The original Sniper: Ghost Warrior wasn’t anything to write home about. I’m being overly kind here and that doesn’t work with Gamerillaz editorial policy, so let’s try again. The original Ghost Warrior was fecking terrible. A rigid turd of a release. A brain dead ‘shoot-it-in-the-head’ number which was universally panned. So the announcement that the sequel has been delayed for a second time won’t have anyone weeping into their chest.
Incially due for an August release, GW2 was pushed back into October. However UK marketing and PR director Lee Kirton has now confirmed that the game won’t hit the shelves until January 15h of next year. Here is what he had to say:
“I can confirm that this is true. It’s key we all want this title to be fantastic in the genre and the leading SNIPER game for sure. The engine is fantastic and the level of polish is also key to the title’s success. As soon as the official announcement through distributors is available I will provide it.”
Despite my harshness towards the Snipers titles, I will admit that this one doesn’t look all that bad. Here is a reminder of the E3 demo from this years event. Many thanks to the mighty VG24/7 for the footage.
