Despite the original LEGO MMO going down the pan just 14 months after it’s launch, the makers of Age of Conan and The Secret World are throwing their hat into the family friendly online gaming market with the development of a new title which will focus on ‘LEGO mini figures’.
The MMO scene is not exactly awash with family focused titles and although the genre appeals to many, titles such as the mighty WoW which has a cartoon feel, can often be a harsh and aggressive environment. Here is what Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas said about making this a family friendly title;
“The market for family-friendly online experiences intended for children and youngsters is brimming with potential,”
“This is source material we all know and love and we simply cannot wait to get started working with the Lego Group on realizing this exciting project.”
With the inclusion of “knights in shining armor,” “brave firefighters” and “oddballs in a gorilla suit,” this title sounds like a big bag o’ laughs. Make sure to check back soon for further updates and more information.
