They say that admitting you have a problem is the first step on the road to recovery. I know I have a Lord of The Rings problem, but I can’t work out if I’m addicted to Tolkien’s world of Orcs and Hobbits or I just have some compulsion which makes me need to tell people how much I love Middle Earth. At least once every couple of weeks I have to write something LOTR based. It’s like elderly people constantly telling you how old they are, “I’m 87, you know?” or rather in my case “No, the Eye of Sauron isn’t actually the Dark Lord himself. He’s sitting in a comfy chair inside Barad-dûr”.
As you may imagine any new game that has something to do with Lord of The Rings gets me stupidly giddy and as Warner Bros. and Monolith Productions announce Guardians of Middle Earth I find myself feeling a little light headed. The game will take the form of a action real-time strategy title and will feature all the big name characters from the universe. Add multiplayer elements in to the mix and I’m on the brink of passing out.
Here is the announcement trailer and there will be more news next week from E3 on the game which is due for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 this Autum. Our thanks once again to GT for providing the video.
