Bondage is always a problem. You have to agree on a ‘safe word,’ find the correct beam in the roof to take the weight of your ‘love swing’ and, oh wait, I’ve read this bit of news all wrong I think… Oh! Bondage as in slavery and the like, I get ya.
Kratos is returning to the PS3 in a new God of War title which is a prequel to the previous releases. Gamers will experience an “emotional path of redemption whilst detailing the rise of his rage to break free from Ares’ bond.” See that’s why I got confused, I read bond as a bondage… Yep, your right there is something wrong with me.
The big news here is that God of War: Ascension will include a multiplayer mode allowing up to 8 players to engage in mortal combat, promising “a competitive experience like never before.” You’ll also be able to side with the gods of legend such as Zeus, Poseidon, Ares or Hades who, should you earn their favour will reward you with unlockable character customisation options. You’ll even be able to get some new tattoos and come on, who does like some new ink once in a while?
The single player campaign takes us back to 6 months following Kratos’ killing of his family after being tricked by Ares (the little scamp) and will focus upon ‘The Ghost of Sparta’ trying to break the blood oath he has made with the God of War. Sony said:
“A younger Kratos is sentenced to a life of madness with the Furies, caged in a Titan sized prison for the living damned. Fighting insanity, his will is tested to the limit as he seeks to break his bond and gain the clarity to seek revenge on Ares for his part in the death of his family.”
Lordy, those old time deities really knew how to to build a penal system, I’ll give them that.
With a new combat and weapons system, world changing scenarios, mini games and puzzles, God of War: Ascension is looking like it could indeed be one off the hottest titles to hit the PS3 next year.
